Launching ceremony of the Vietnamese student football team to participate in the 2023 Asian Cup

On the morning of August 30, at Dong Nai University of Technology, the departure ceremony for the Vietnamese student football team participating in the 2023 Asian Universities Football Championship, held from September 5 to September 15 in Taebaek City, South Korea, took place. Representing Binh Duong Economics and Technology University (BETU) were Associate Professor, PhD. Nguyen Quoc Y, Vice President; Lecturer Le Ha Duong, Head of the Student Affairs Office; and Master Trinh Hoang Xuan Phuc, Director of the Media and Career Counseling Center.

The team includes two players who are current students of BETU: Tran Tan Dat (from the Faculty of Automotive Technology and Engineering) and Vi Hieu Thuan (from the Faculty of Information Technology).

In his speech, PhD. Phan Ngoc Son emphasized: “In early July 2023, Dong Nai University of Technology, Van Lang University, Binh Duong Economics and Technology University, and several other universities collaborated to form the male student football team to participate in the 2023 Asian Universities Football Championship. A key objective of this tournament is to promote the image of Vietnamese football, particularly student football, to the international community."

At this Asian tournament, the Vietnamese student football team will compete against teams from Japan, Oman, Taiwan (China), Malaysia, the Philippines, and host South Korea.

Coach Nguyen Hoang Minh shared: “After more than two months of rigorous training, the Vietnamese student football team is ready to depart for South Korea on September 5. The team is determined to secure at least two victories and strive to reach the semi-finals of this year’s championship."
