BETU students participate in the Korea - Vietnam 2023 Global Young Creative Ideas Contest

On the morning of November 28, 2023, PhD. Nguyễn Thị Thu Hà, Rector of Binh Dương Economics and Technology University (BETU), attended the signing ceremony for cooperation among universities and the opening of the 2023 Vietnam–Korea Global Youth Innovation Competition. This event is part of a university-industry collaboration program between Daejeon City (South Korea) and Bình Dương Province (Vietnam).

Previously, in December 2022, BETU leadership signed an educational cooperation agreement with universities and industrial zones in Daejeon City (South Korea). According to the agreement, the parties pledged to support global educational activities among students from both countries' universities, promote research collaboration, technology exchange and development, and organize forums and seminars between universities. Additionally, the agreement supports global cooperation and sharing activities, entrepreneurial and business initiatives of students and lecturers, creating a collaborative ecosystem for mutual growth among universities.

In 2023, the university expanded its connections and collaborations with numerous partners from South Korea, including educational institutions and businesses. BETU signed cooperation agreements with universities such as Kyungwoon and Kwangwoon, the UDACITY Development Institute, and inaugurated the Klass Smart Korean Learning Room, implemented by Visang Vietnam Education Group with sponsorship from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Jeung Yun Ho, representing Daejeon City, shared: “Since 2005, Bình Dương Province and Daejeon City have established a cooperative development relationship. The 2023 Vietnam-Korea Global Youth Innovation Competition strengthens the ties between the two localities and provides a meaningful platform for students from both nations.”

With the theme "Smart Cities and Smart Mobility," the 2023 Vietnam-Korea Global Youth Innovation Competition took place over two days, November 28 and 29. The competition featured 12 teams presenting ideas for smart city development projects focusing on criteria such as resident convenience, technological advancements, and environmental friendliness. Representing BETU were students from the Automotive Technology (Vietnam-Korea program) under the Faculty of Technology and Engineering.

At the conclusion of the competition, the BETU team achieved an impressive third place, awarded by the Association of Universities in Daejeon City (South Korea), with a prize worth 5 million VND.
