On the morning of October 21, the Faculty of Automotive Technology and Engineering (FATE) at Binh Dương Economics and Technology University (BETU) hosted a welcoming ceremony for first-year students of the D23 cohort.

In his opening speech, Associate Professor, PhD. Nguyễn Phụ Thượng Lưu, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Technology and Engineering and Director of the Automotive Practice Center at BETU, emphasized: “In today’s era of Industry 4.0, automobiles have become an increasingly common mode of transportation for many people. Concurrently, the demand for highly skilled professionals has surged. Thus, tasks ranging from maintenance and repair of engines and automated systems to research and the development of innovative technologies aligned with market trends highlight the vital role of automotive technology experts and engineers with advanced technical skills.”

Students asking questions to automotive industry experts

On this occasion, students of FATE at BETU had the opportunity to address their queries to industry experts regarding career prospects and potential job positions after graduation. This interaction provided students with valuable insights to help them set clear academic goals, equip themselves with essential skills, and adopt the right attitude toward their studies, ensuring confidence as they enter the labor market.

Automotive students enthusiastically participating in activities during the welcoming event

The Faculty of Automotive Technology and Engineering at BETU officially began enrolling and training students in 2022. Its curriculum is designed with a strong emphasis on practical application, tailored to meet societal demands. Courses are structured to closely align real-world practices in enterprises, featuring a diverse range of study programs. Notably, the Vietnam–Korea Automotive Technology Program enables students to study in the Korean language, with instruction from Korean professors. In addition to theoretical and practical lessons, automotive students gain fresh perspectives through seminars, company visits, hands-on experiences at assembly plants, academic competitions, and specialized lectures delivered by domestic and international experts.

According to its development plan, the Faculty of Automotive Technology and Engineering at BETU will enhance internship opportunities and job placement programs for students both domestically and internationally. It will focus on applied training and automotive technology research, fostering the development of patents and intellectual property products. The university also aims to assemble a team of domestic and international experts to contribute to activities at its Automotive Practice Center. Additionally, BETU plans to transfer technologies, develop guidelines and instructional materials for interested organizations, establish international student exchange programs, and support the improvement of the university’s automotive technology curriculum.

Earlier, in July 2023, BETU inaugurated its Center for Automotive Diagnosis, Repair, and Simulation, marking a significant milestone in the university’s automotive technology training program.
